This Speaker Series summarises a recent presentation delivered in Auckland by Australian dermatologist Dr Eleni Yiasemides on the treatment of photoageing with topical tretinoin 0.05% (ReTrieve®). ReTrieve® is approved for the treatment of acne and is the only prescription tretinoin cream approved for photoageing in New Zealand. In her presentation, Dr Yiasemides discussed the pathophysiology of photoageing, compared topical tretinoin with non-prescription retinoids, reviewed its efficacy and safety, and provided expert guidance on how patients can minimise adverse effects while maximising the benefits of treatment.
